The Health Adviser Team and Partner Notification

Health advisers form part of the sexual health care team, providing information and advice on sexual health issues, STIs, HIV and contraception. We work with clients to promote safer sex and risk reduction.

The health adviser team play a key role in the management of positive results and recalling patients for treatment. Part of this process is to discuss partner notification, in order to identify sexual partners who may be at risk of infection so they can access testing and treatment. This process aims to reduce the risk of undiagnosed infection and onward transmission of STIs and HIV to the wider public.

GPs and other healthcare professionals who may diagnose STIs can refer patients to the health advising team for partner notification; or contact us for information and advice on any aspect of sexual health care.

We can be contacted at The Centre on 01392 284960
